Works in Progress
In late June, look for One Season of Sunshine. Jane Aaron is a woman in search of her self. She was adopted as an infant and the court records were sealed. The only thing Jane knows is when and where she was born: The need to know leads her to her birthplace, Cedar Springs, to search for any clue about herself. Jane takes a job as a nanny to the two children of Asher Price. Asher has a past he would like to forget. His late wife died in a car wreck after drinking. She left him a widower with two young children and an advertising firm that he struggles to keep from from going under in a down economy. Jane and Asher discover in each other two people whose pasts have left them isolated from the mainstream. They find a common ground they didn't know they were seeking. Jane grows more and more attached to the kids and to Asher, but her search for a past begins to reveal startling truths that threaten to destroy a future she is just beginning to glimpse.
In late October, Declan O'Conner, Lord Donnelly, whom you may recall from previous novels, kicks off a new quartet series, The Secrets of Hadley Green. In The Year of Living Scandalously, Declan discovers that the Countess of Ashwood is not who she says she is. He knows very well she is not, because he has known Keira Hannigan since she was a girl in Ireland, and Keira is no countess. Keira doesn't have a very good reason for parading about as her cousin--the true countess--but once she assumed the role, she discovered some shocking secrets about an old crime. She believes the wrong man was hanged for it, and wants to clear his name with Declan's help. Declan refuses...at first. But he can't resist Keira and he begins to suspect she might be on to something quite shocking.
