February 2010

I am really ready for winter to be over, aren't you?  It's a good month to hole up and write.  I have finished One Season of Sunshine and am working on a proposal for a new contemporary.  I am finishing up The Year of Living Scandalously and will be ready to start the second book in the series soon after that.  If you want to see what One Season of Sunshine is all about, you can see the cover and a description right here.

if anyone is interested in some book suggestions, I've read some great ones recently:  The Help by Kathryn Stockett; A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick; Too Much Happiness by Alice Munro; Mennonite in a Little Black Dress by Rhonda Janzen; Dear American Airlines by Jonathan Miles; and This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper.  I highly recommend any of these reads.

Keep warm, stay off icy roads, and please don't spend all your book dollars before June!

A special note to Guiding Light Fans: So many of you have written to ask about more books for Guiding Light since the show went off the air.  I am very flattered that you want more from me, but the copyright to those characters and story do not belong to me--they belong to Guiding Light.  I have not been contacted about a continuation of books.  That does not mean, however, that it's not in the works.  It just means that if they are planning books, it is with another author.  The bottom line is that I could not legally write about the characters even if I wanted to.  I am very sorry for us all that we have lost such an institution.
